Vacations with Your Pet
There?s no sleep more comforting than the one shared with a pet, and there?s no better way to break routine and enjoy a vacation than with a dog. That?s why today, Hotel Benidorm shares some important tips to ensure your trip with your best friend is successful and enjoyable:
Take care of their health
It?s essential to do a general check-up of your pet?verify their vaccinations, external deworming, and if necessary, internal deworming. If possible, consult your vet about any additional care needed for your destination. Bring their vaccination records and a list of the medications they normally take.
Plan their meals
Pack a bit more than your pet?s usual food portions. They?re used to a specific type of food, and running out of it could cause them stress. Your stay might get extended, and it might be hard to find the same food. Sticking to their feeding routine helps them feel comfortable. Bring a bottle of water just for them to make sure they stay hydrated. Pack their usual treats and snacks?they?ll help you reward them, calm them, or simply keep them entertained when needed. Try to feed them at least two hours before the trip; this helps with digestion and reduces the chance of vomiting or accidents in inappropriate places.
Don?t forget their food and water bowls!
Keep them clean
Always have bags and wipes handy, as there may be situations where your dog can?t wait to go outside. Bring their grooming kit (wipes, toothbrush, coat brush, flea repellent) to keep them clean and make both of you more comfortable.
Bring their toys
Dogs always want to play?it?s essential to bring the items they normally use to have fun. This will help prevent boredom and keep them from damaging things in your accommodation.
Prevent accidents
If your pet needs special care or suffers from a condition, don?t forget to bring their medication. You can also prepare a small first aid kit with essentials for an emergency (gauze, bandages, gloves, tape, saline, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, thermometer, scissors, syringe, Elizabethan collar). Check nearby veterinary services and how far they are from where you?ll be staying (just as a precaution).
Choose the right accommodation
It?s very important to choose a place to stay that is ?Pet friendly? or ?Dog friendly,? because there?s nothing more comforting than arriving at your accommodation knowing your furry friend is just as welcome as you are. They need a space to rest, eat, and walk. Having this information will make your trip much more pleasant.
